What
happens if I do not make a Will?
If you
die without having made a Will (intestacy), your Estate (the
legal term for your combined assets) could be distributed
according to rules of intestacy. These rules may mean that
your estate benefits the taxman and the State rather than
your chosen beneficiaries.
Bereaved
spouses and children often have to go through additional and
unnecessary stress at the most difficult time in their life
because of legal disputes which arise when their spouse or
parent dies without having made a Will.
